"The Witcher Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world in which people often prove more wicked than beasts." a very basic definition that appears upon searching for this series, but I believe it needs more than that explanation to make one watch other than obviously having an A-list actor in this case super hero aka superman Henry Cavill as their main lead. The Witcher follows the stories of Geralt of Rivia, a monster-hunting Witcher who lives much longer than a normal human; Yennefer (Anya Colatra) a sorceress of the Lodge who comes from humble and somewhat horrible beginnings to find both beauty, power and long life; and Ciri (Freya Allan) the granddaughter of Queen Calanthe of Cintra (Jodhi May) and a princess of that realm.
The story starts of with a action sequence between an deadly spider like monster and Geralt the witcher capturing the attention of the viewers with in seconds. Personally since I am not much of a reader nor a gamers I came to about this piece solely after watching the series on Netflix. I felt the series was a bit hard to follow fantasy as a lot was happening a minute it was past then its present. but overall after I had done watching most things started to connect and make sense hence definitely a piece which is worth waiting for you to make sense of it. It has all the elements a dark fantasy should have action sequences, romance, thrill, mystery, jealousy, drama name it its a full on package. the actors had performed their part rather very well, cinematography and graphics could have been better as it came out 2019 but they weren't the worst either. The series was 8 episodes long but each episode ended on an interesting note to keep the viewers wanting to watch to rest also. Over all id say its a 4.5/5 for me, cant say that I am fan but the story did stay with me enough for me to want a season 2 which is coming December 17 2021.
