Ertugrul is the heroic story of Ertugrul Ghazi, the father of Osman (Uthman) who founded the Ottoman Empire.

This series is one of the best series, we have ever watched. In this series, history, family, and faith are shown in a wonderful manner. The action, brotherhood and sisterhood in this series makes you want to go back to those old times.

The main character of this series is Ertugrul as the name shows. He is a young guy in Kai Kabila whose father is the leader of Kai Kabila which is a kabila of Turks. That Kabila once faced a lot of poverty and there is literally famine. His brothers suggested that we should move to another place in search of food. Among his brothers, he is the only one who disagreed. But there were people who were on his side still, so he took all the people that are on his side and migrated to a place that’s near border.

After migration, he faced a lot of hardships. The series is filled with the heroic events that he has faced one after another throughout his life. He has to face a lot of injustice from Christians and Mongols too. He doesn't lose his faith on almighty and stayed firm on his religion. He also refuses to sign pacts with Christians and Mongols. Because he disagrees to Christians and Mongols, he faced a lot of things. He lost many loved ones and his faithful companions. He has to fight them too and, in those fights, he has to bear loses both financial and of loved ones too. He still faced all these hard times with bravery and valour.

As he doesn't surrender his faith in front of anybody, a lot of people became his enemies. One day, Christians attacked him, and he attacked them back and kept fighting with them to eliminate injustice that Christians are doing. He helped that time's Muslim empire, Saljok, too. Whenever they need any kind of help, he stands with his Muslim brothers both in terms of resources and in term of manpower too. He also becomes a reason between brotherhood between two Muslims who were not on good terms before. As he kept fighting Christians, he kept winning land. He then becomes the leader/ruler of that conquered land. He implemented word of Allah there. He set free the people of that land. He eliminates slavery from the society and interest from the trade. He became a ruler himself then.

After he become a ruler and a strong one too, he with his fellows went to help his other Muslim brothers too and helped them during times of hardships, fights, and wars too. Due to all his efforts, he become so successful that he is able to form his own empire. This empire is the same empire that eventually becomes the ottoman empire by his son. Ottoman empire was the biggest Muslim empire in the history and also one of the biggest empires of all times.

The show is a great way to learn more about the events that lead to the formation of the Ottoman Empire. While it may be hard for some to dive deep into the events that took place before the show’s time and era, it is quite easy to keep up with the show itself. The drama factor is powerful throughout the whole series, be it meetings between tribe members, intense battle scenes, or even a simple love scene. On ending, every episode leaves the viewer on tenterhooks, making it impossible not to binge entire seasons.

All in all, Ertugrul series is a must-watch as it is based on historical events, it is anything but a boring history lesson. It’s easy on the eyes, as there are no flashy lights. A soft treat for your ears, as there are no heavy beats; instead, Arabian guitars and battle drums once every while. Nonetheless, absolutely pleasant to satisfy all your senses that the only regret after watching it is that it ended. Hence, I would highly recommend it!
