Elite

Genre: Drama

Director: Silvia Que

Rating: 4/5

One of the greatest series I have watched so far Graphics were really fantastic. Good acting, Beautiful setting. Some cliché tropes that are actually used in an original way, and some twist and turns I definitely did not see coming. The characters are believable, they have depth and weaknesses and aren't adults doing adult things while telling the viewer they really are sixteen unlike shows like Gossip Girl. I loved the European grounded of it, there's a realism to this show American teen shows never seem to possess. I've been surprised plenty of times, I'd definitely recommend, also for the older viewer who likes a good murder mystery.

In Elite series each character was so quick to find an alibi or point out who might be the killer. While that is the central focus of the show, it wouldn't be a teen drama without adding a hint of high school issues like bad girls, blackmail, love triangles and identity crises, for n to name a few. I knew what I was getting the second there were three regular students Samuel, Christian and Nadia moving into an elite high school also known as the exclusive private school and the popular kids and super rich weren't happy. It only fueled the fire when we found out who had been killed.

Seasons 2 and 3 just brought more drama and more shakes from my couch. If you thought that only one person would be killed, then you're not at all familiar with dramatic thrillers you don't feel comfortable with any of the characters and Game of Thrones taught me that Let's be honest bad characters are always the most interesting. It's still a relationship of love and hate, especially with popular children Guzman, Polo, Carla, and Lu. While you want to encourage the good guys, the series does a great job providing character development at all levels. You find that they are not inherently bad - they just face bad circumstances like neglected parents, insecurities, or loneliness. By season three, they were actually my favorite characters.

I could write an ode to Lu. Meanwhile, the three characters who joined the school Samuel, Christian and Nadia weren't that perfect. On the contrary, they were influenced by this new environment and were automatically mingled with this exclusive group in more ways than one. Whether they met, had a fight, or became friends, these main characters confused who we considered to be bad or good. It's also important to note that around the second season, we put even more characters Valerio, Rebecca, and Cayetana into the mix. It played a big part in how everyone changed and interacted with each other. A bigger circle meant more problems, more growth, and more complicated scenarios.

My opinion what I liked the most about the show was that she didn't drag these stories. At the end of the third season, we were saying goodbye to some people. Even though it pained me not to see the regular crew again, I'm glad their script was over. We don't have to watch them lose weight and stay on the show for no reason. Next season, we will discover new characters that we will fall in love with. Some OGs will still be around, but it's good to see a new cycle and a new story come to life.
